What is Gymnema Extract?

Gymnema extract is derived from Gymnema sylvestre, a large plant native to India, found growing today in tropical Africa and in Australia. Its Hindi name is “gur-mar,” meaning “sugar destroying,” because of the anti-sweet quality experienced when, after chewing one or two leaves, one is unable to detect a sweet taste.
