Suggested Use
Cup4Cup Pie Crust
Yield: Two crusts
Ingredients:
- 1 pouch (454 g) Cup4Cup Pie Crust Mix
- 1 cup (225 g) cold unsalted butter cut into 1/2 inch cubes
- 1 large egg yolk
- 1/2 cup + 1 tbsp (135 g) ice water
- Optional: Cup4Cup Multipurpose Flour for dusting
Instructions:
Mix
With a food processor, pastry cutter, or fork, combine Cup4Cup Pie Crust Mix and cold butter until coarse. While stirring, gradually add in egg yolk and ice water to crust mixture until visibly crumbly. Careful not to over mix, knead until a dough ball forms. Divide dough in half and flatten into discs. Wrap each disc in plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
Roll
Remove dough from refrigerator 15 minutes before rolling. Use Cup4cup Multipur- pose Flour to dust your work surface or roll dough between two pieces of plastic wrap. Roll one or both discs into 12-inch circles, about 1/8-inch thick, lifting often to prevent sticking.
Bake
Transfer dough to pie dish, gently pressing in. Trim and shape edges. Fill with your favorite sweet or savory pie filling. Use the remaining portion of dough for an additional pie or drape over filled pie. Bake and finish according to your recipe.
Warnings
Store in a cool, dry place.
